Potato ring around two plants
I’ve just placed my latest invention, namely a potato ring over my two organic potato plants, as this ring prevents the heaped soil being washed out of my mixed vegetable and herb tank bed. The 17-year old vermi-soil from the sweet potato bed taken out of the shelter a week ago, provided the still fertile soil to fill this potato ring for an early crop of organic potatoes. The potatoes were grown from one of a packet of the two-in-one packets I bought a few weeks earlier from Woolworths, as they were the only organic potatoes I could get here. The first packet I cooked for quite a long time, being so hard, but found it tasteless. These small potatoes were just ideal as seed potatoes, I therefore used it as above and planted it without sprouting them first in this raised bed. The plants looked very healthy and by doing the earthing up this way, I hope for a bounty crop of potatoes soon, which should taste delicious. (It is so much better to find a solution than to complain about something – which helped me in this latest invention!
So anyone who would like to order some of these potato rings, can order them from me at [email protected] – I will have to price these first plus postage etc. but these rings are made from tough material that should give at least 20 plus years of worthwhile work to you.
