Twin-eared rabbit strawberries
By working with Mother Nature and not against her, I’ve discovered so many of her “tricks of the trade” and trying to copy her, I’ve produced these strange looking double size big bunny-eared strawberries ripening now in their protection bags. See the difference between the bigger than normal strawberry from the same plant and his twin rabbit brothers!
There is never a dull moment in my garden doing these experiments with my plants – and makes up for lack of companionship with friends, otherwise I won’t find the time to carry out these strange concoctions!
I am so pleased with these strawberry protection bags blossoming all over my vegetable beds, over strawberries, green peppers etc. hanging like Chinese lanterns and brightening all the beds with their blue shiny colour. Ever day I harvest beautiful, blemish-free and poison-free strawberries that are much larger in size than growing them the normal way without these protection bags!
The strawberries are growing so fast, with so little water, that I have to make at least 30 more bags for the tank bed, not so say the hundreds for the two longs beds inside the shelter that are all in flower! We will have strawberries popping out all over the place!
I will ask Wendy to place more photos of these strange strawberries when they have ripen inside the bags, later on to this article.
Try and get yourself some SELECTA strawberry plants to transplant too in your garden, as these plants seemed to grow and produce strawberries nearly 3/4 of the year!
