Green products are as a rule a waste. I like some products such as timers for thermostats, higher mileage cars, high efficiency appliances. These items do a lot to conserve energy and don't cost much.
Many green products such as CFL's particularly in applications where they are seldom on are a joke. The amount of energy saved is nil and you have a more expensive bulb and a hazardous waste when you dispose of them.
Green products are a no brainier when they save money.
