Make a smoothie for a wonderful summer breakfast or anytime snack.

how to make a smoothie You can use yoghurt as your base, or just fruit. Some like to make protein rich smoothies with Whey powder or tofu. Others like to make fibre rich smoothies with bran added.

How to make a smoothie:

Peel and chop a selection of fruit – my favourite is mango, strawberries and banana.
Put it in a deep bowl.
Add 250ml plain yoghurt
Add 100 ml fruit juice

Use your hand blender to blend until smooth. Enjoy.

You can also put this all in a liquidizer, but I find there to be less waste using a hand blender. Investing in a hand blender is worhtwhile. Not only do I use my hand blender for smoothies, but its fabulous for soups and making guacamole too.
