Set up your home recycling bins so that it is not a burden to sort and deal with your waste in a wise way within your home.
However, if you live where I do, you will need to make a plan yourself. Being frugally minded I was not prepared to pay for fancy recycling bins so I had to think what would work best for us considering our space constraints. If you are lucky, your local council or municipality will make recycling bins available to you for free. Some will charge a nominal fee for them. Some local governments will provide you with recycling packets that you will place your recyclables in and put them out with your bins on collection day.
Therefore we got 4 large cardboard boxes from a store. On the outside of each box we stuck a label so that we could quickly identify which recyclable belonged where.
This is what it looked like:
As we started recycling more and more we added other boxes to these home recycling bins. When the boxes were filled we simply put them in the car when we were going on an errand and dropped the contents off at the recycling centre.
The boxes lasted for a couple of months before they too had to be recycled and new ones prepared.
