Home Made Baked Beans
Having some home made baked beans in the fridge can be a lifesaver for frugal moms as this filling tasty recipe can be used in many ways.
You will need: Soak your beans overnight. Then cook in the water for about 1 hour until the beans are soft. In the meantime bake the onions and garlic at 160 deg Celsius for 30 minutes. Combine the onions and garlic with all the other ingredients and run through a blender until smooth. Drain the beans and add to the roasting tray you used for the onions and garlic. Pour the blended ingredients over the beans and bake uncovered for 60 – 90 minutes stirring every now and again. If the mixture seems a little thick, add a little water. Serve with crusty bread or with nachos or simply on toast!
