How To Make Alfredo Sauce

Learning how to make alfredo sauce can be a life saver when you want to put a quick nutritious tasty meal on the table.

Years ago, before children, my husband and I had a weekly meal out at a local Italian restaurant. We loved their alfredo sauce so much that I tried to copy and perfect their recipe.

This is the result...enjoy it with crispy ciabatta rolls and a big green salad.

alfredo sauce 250g of sliced ham or bacon
250g sliced mushrooms
250ml cream
1 tablespoon flour
250ml milk
1 teaspoon garlic
1 tablespoon of mixed Italian herbs (or you can use home made pesto)
Black pepper
Parmesan cheese
Oil for frying

Fry the bacon or ham, garlic and mushrooms in the oil until cooked. Pour over the cream. In the cream container mix the milk and flour and add to the pan. Allow to thicken. Season with black pepper and herbs.

Cook your home made pasta. Spoon sauce over the pasta top with freshly milled black pepper and parmesan.
